Hey Shaggy

looks like you got a good razzin" so I don't need to give any more. Are you questioning if this may be an error since appears to be stamped a bit off? Probably just machining, hence face value

Your photo's are a bit fuzzy , it's hard to tell. Try taking them in focus and cropping them with the Image Optimizer

May I inquire if you are a young, new collector? All your posts refer to what seems to be "common pocket change", none are intrinsicly valuable. Yes, the 1974 LMC in your pix is copper, the alloy change happened mid-way of 1982. It's one thing to learn about coins, hope you're not pulling our legs!

Hi Shaggy83,

You can find out a lot about a coin just by selecting "US Coin Facts" in the gray column to the left. There's information about the composition and weight, etc.

Some people do collect copper coins just because they think that some day it will be worth a lot of money. So, there's no harm in keeping it if you want. But most collectors looking to buy a coin like this would prefer a cleaner, redder coin.

If you look this coin up on ebay, you will see what people are selling them for, and if you do an advanced search you will find out what they actually sold for.

Hope that helps.

Very common coin easily found in change....it's worth 1 cent. These are generally not worth collecting until you get to at least MS-65. Here's a picture of mine, this is the grade you should seek for your collection:

Interestingly, this come in large data and small date varieties. This is the small date.
