Hey Spence, how right you are. Have found three proof Lincoln's in boxes. The 1957 was toned darker ("cleaned up" well ), a 1977S & 1999S looked like picked up out of the street, gouged bad on both. Would love to show pics,but...laptop died, no USB camera or access to files until repaired or get new one. How about a contest to see who or when someone pays the $200 for a Littleton coin!

Back in the early nineties, I bought nickels from Littleton in those same packages for 3 or 4 dollars. Later I found other sources for around 50 cents a piece!

Quote: How about a contest to see who or when someone pays the $200 for a Littleton coin! Littleton's prices are always on the high side, but I have no gripe about their grading. They grade more conservatively than any dealer I've seen. And they've handled a load of coins valued at more than two hundred bucks, but this isn't one of them.

I don't see where Littleton claimed the coin was a proof, only the ebay seller. How can one determine this coin to be a proof?

Also, I am curious as to what this means... Staff edit - please DO NOT alter case within a sentence, again

I was also wondering about that. I haven't seen it before but want to make sure I don't do it.
Is it the internet "yelling" thing?

Quote: In an extreme case, you could have enough wear that the coin would be rated ad VG. Actually, this might make an interesting thread here on CCF, "Post your circulated proof coins". We already have a thread on that! http://goccf.com/t/246953

Of course the seller only has two sales. I'm also curious as to the altering case thing from the staff?

Crazy price on the nickel. IMHO, either the seller thinks the nickel is a proof because it's in cellophane, or he's a scammer.
Regarding the use of caps within a sentence, I've done that on CCF. Here's an example ...
The counterstamp on my avatar reads: L. POMEROY / 1826 / US
A great many counterstamps utilize caps only, and this format is the way they are often published.

I will also frequently do a word or two in a sentence in all caps to indicate emphasis on a particular point.
