Quote: I got a few more toonies in the mail today. Getting close to finishing the series with just 7 more to go!! Good for you! Are going after, or do you have the 2003W and the 1996-2006 with the date on the bottom?

Way to go! You're almost done! I began a toonie album one rainy day when my grandson was visiting. We initially started out by roll hunting, it was great fun. I also bought from ebay what we couldn't find. But then some of the new MS made the others that were worn look old and dingy, and some upgrading began. All and all it was entertaining and it's interesting to observe how many different versions were issued in the 20 years since they made their first appearance.

I was a coin collector when the Toonies came out but assumed they would be boring and useless to collect as they were "modern". So I did not bother. As I was collecting all the other denominations of Canadian coins I decided to collect them four years ago by picking through change. I bought a few also as needed and it has not been as boring as I thought! Maybe not boring at all!

I've got all the 2006 varieties. As for the 2003W, I don't but I am considering buying the PL set just because I'll need the other coins later. Quote: Good for you! Are going after, or do you have the 2003W and the 1996-2006 with the date on the bottom?

It's quite a satisfying series to collect. I remember seeing a toonie for the first time when I was in Ontario, Canada pre 9/11. Same for loonies for that matter. Quote:Way to go! You're almost done! I just bought the last remaining 6 toonies I needed from ebay. I am guessing it will be close to 2 weeks before they arrive. Maybe I will start working on my loonies next...

I got more toonies today! So now I just need 2000 Knowledge and the 2017 Candada 150 toonie. The Knowledge toonie has been shipped and awaiting it's arrival.

Hmm, that is a good question wildflowerAB! I have been working on my Elizabethian 50 cent pieces. I'm getting close on that one. I think the 1953 varieties will be the toughest since I'm going for uncirculated. Then I'll need the 1982 SB variety.

The 1974 Missing S variety will be the hardest one to find in mint state...

I would say I am one lucky feller... one of the first times I picked up a load of 50 cent pieces from the bank I found a "missing S" course it's not in MS shape... but I'll take it! Perhaps tonight when the cubs are asleep I'll try to put up some pics!
