How about putting each mayor on a penny. have several hundred different types per year and this way after a few years and new mayors come into office, always have new people on the cent. Collecting the cent would be so much more fun and challenging if you dramatically increase number of designs per year.

I'm glad to live in a country where we CAN give our opinions and where the people have so many rights and freedoms and religons........
I feel all warm and fuzzy inside .......it's either bad pork....or reading everyone's political views .....
Seems to be an obvious SLANT in a certain direction !....

If it ever came to this, I would not collect them, ever! It would be the Mint's equivalent of "going postal" (sorry just carl!). Well, maybe not ever...

I really like this idea! I'm all for it. Maybe we could have the symbol of each branch on a coin. Make a mini series out of it. For example, one year have Patton on the obverse with the army symbol on the reverse. The next year we could have John Paul Jones on the obverse with the navy symbol on the revers and so on

But if we are talking Presidents here, don't you all think its time for Richard Nixon coin?

Rather having new designs every year I think it would be better to get a single design and stick with it for a 25-50 years.

According to all Presidential polls I have ever seen, Lincoln is recognized as the No. 1 President.

We should remove him and reoplace him with Ron Paul, Reagan, or James K. Polk!!?

Also, just for a fun change, how about saving the tax-payers some money, and get rid of the penny, with the exception of small mintages for collectors?

They did not ask me! I have at least six Presidents above him on my list.

I always liked the " Mind your business " motto on the fugio cent. Would like to see that come back.
