I know the 1899 barber had the mark on rim but if I even get a au50 grade I made off in the green

Please understand that I am by no means an expert but the photos were very dark. I took them into my photo editing software and brought them back to proper color and brightened them up.

My concern with this coin is the scratches above "in God we trust" The gash in the chest of the eagle and the scratch by the D going up to the eagle. I am just learning about grading but how much would these detract from the grade?

Personally I have bought from this seller before back when I was a more novice collector and never had an issue with them. Granted their pics never fully show the coins full luster, also you have to note that it is a 1943S which is almost always weakly struck. Like as others have said macvanderstein offers a full refund policy, so your covered.

It is a reasonable well struck example, the breast feathers are better than average definition for a high AU Walker.

To tell you the truth ,I don't like this Walker and I don't care for this seller . Too many hits especially on reverse . I never saw a coin that I liked from this seller . But hey ,that's me . All I can do is make my recommendations .

Grade aside, the long scratch in the right obverse field particularly troubles me.

Not quite MS. Not a Coin I would buy simply because of the number and location of the hits.

Looks original to me. I'm going to say au-55, as it has a few too many hits to be a true 58.
