Looks more like a 1900-S to me...

Well, I am waiting on my new glasses from the VA...

VDB is too far to the left for one. And with the dark area all around the "S" might as well say that is fake too!

That isn't even a genuine 1909 s. It has an added MM in my opinion.

Could be entered into the Problem Coin of the Year contest. Added S, damaged, cleaned, corroded.

Of course it is silly boy, the seller wouldn't lie to you now would, he? If its on ebay, it HAS to be real now, right?

Sometimes moderators yell and sometimes it gets keyed that way, and hopefully it is not At you.

The chances of this is an actual 1909 S VDB are very slim. I don't want people to waste their money on a hope and a dream.

I'm unsure how much collector value is left on this coin...It's had a hard life, even if that's a real mm.

Added mint mark and with all the holes I say, chuck it in the garbage.

I think it's a real 1909S. There isn't any VDB though - it's just blobs of metal that happen to look like letters if you squint.

I think it was a practice coin for a putative 1909-S VDB counterfeiter
