gmwatson....

Its the real deal... POP ONE ... no other 1895-O's Die Caps
around.

Purchased from Andy Lustig in 2012 - resold back to him
at Summer FUN - 2016.

Its listed in Mike Byers' " World's Greatest Mint Errors,
page 47, Rarity Level: Unique. Valued at $50,000.

I like Dime errors, obviously !

Well, a pretty incredible looking coin.

Not being that up on Barber dimes, I'm not familiar with the details of its rarity ... was just stunned by the toning. Didn't seem random as would be expected but somehow orchestrated given the symmetry of the colors. A very impressive coin.

Had to educate myself on the whole die cap error to better understand what was going on with the coin. Now that I understand what exactly I was viewing ... makes better sense. That said, how a coin could tone in that manner seems impossible.

I was ATS @ PCGS answering a question about my 1902 Dimes....

Here is one of my nicer ones:

Purchased raw from Dave Lawrence - as an AU 58....
sent to NGC after PCGS said it was AT....

Resubmitted to PCGS in the NGC 58 holder, and they
lowered it to an AU 55....

PCGS True View...

Suprising that they said it was AT, that blue edge type toning seems like one of the more distinct patterns that Barber dimes get...

Talk about taking the long way. I am glad you finally got it in the holder you wanted, even if the grade took a hit. She is very nice.

I think I'll start getting some MS coins put together - even if this is a duplicate - I loved the toning...

I had to use up some ebay Bucks before they expired....
so, this didn't cost me all that much...
