Unless it was stolen on commission by a very rich collector and it's sitting in his hidden collection Conder. Could be recovered eventually if that was the case.

I don't know why this came to mind after 3+ years, but I decided to do a little research and it looks like 3 of the 4 arrested were put behind bars. To the surprise of absolutely no one, no trace of the coin has ever been found, save some gold particles in the thieves' getaway car and clothing. More reading on this. |
