Gee Crystalk. The ones we have in Nevada run wild. I heard that the ones you have in Indiana have a metal pole through them and only run in circles..

This might be the prettiest State Quarter design I've seen yet. It would be great if they can capture the same beauty in the engraving.

Well you are WRONG Catman as some of them just rock back and forth, for 50 cents, in the Walmart lobby! Actually I have NEVER been thrown off a merry go round but can't say the same for horses. Actually getting hurt, well that would go to a darned pony! Anyway, back to the subject, when I think of Nevada I tend to see more miners and MULES!!! So you still got some horses out there huh? Well I guess the horses would be politically correct and the quarter would not belong specifically to any one city, event or group. We gave ours to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway? Go figure?

We also have wild horses in Colorado. Some within 70 miles of where I live.

The Nevada quarter is attractive. Will probably rank No. 2 with me, behind Rhode Island. Of course when Colorado's is issued, Neveada will become No. 3. Actually, I'm joking. I'm not all that thrilled with the up-coming Colorado quarter.

Ouch Catman!! Actually when I was a kid I had a horse that didn't need a quarter to rock back and forth. Anyone else have one of those red metal rocking horses with the wooden head and seat? Merry-go-rounds make me sick, something about the up and down while going in circles...

Anyways... I think I remember the drawing that miker and Gary are referring to- wasn't that the Daniel Carr proposal? It was cool, but I do like what they've come up with.

We have wild horses here too in the Big Apple, in Central Park. Wild people too.

The memory of the old rocking horse is something I had forgotten until now. Started out on one of those and now my kids are trying to get me back on one again.

What a memory, you got there Rachel.. it was Daniel Carr of Colorado who did all those nice computer renderings of metals and coins.

Well, I will have to see it before I pass final judgement as the mint can pretty much screw up the best designs on paper!
It is amazing that Kyra can't handle the Merry Go Round but she can send an Axe Man out to do her dirty work? Probably makes her sick so thats why she has the hired help?

My personal opinion, at this time, after checking out ALL the 2006 Statehood Quarter designs I believe next year will be the BEST overall in the program thus far. And, of course, more buffalo coming but a much better design than Kansas. Sorry Kansas, you have to settle for 2nd place now. And the best news is the simple fact there will be NO state outlines on any of the 5 offered. The State Quarters this year, though different, just did not have final appeal when transfering from paper to coins. Very bland year!

It was Daniel Carr. Thanks for remembering. His drawings were tremendous, I thought.

Not too thrilled with the up-coming Colorado quarter. It needed waterfalls, animals...something to liven up the solid mountain scenery.

Funny thing though. The Govenor didn't even ask my opinion!

Now that HAD TO BE and oversight on the Governors part? You would think they would automatically put a call out to coin collectors who KNOW whats going on in the Coin World but NO!!! Just let them find out a man/woman owes a few bucks in taxes and boy they get a hold of you then!!!

Anyone remember seeing Carolyn riding her
pony on White House lawn? Anyone remember what
the pony's name was?

"...I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round,
I really love to watch them roll,
No longer riding on the merry-go-round,
I just had to let it go."

stuck a feather in his cap and called it
Macaroniiiii."
