I'm surprised that no one has any input on these sets. They are composed of six pieces (10, 5, 2 1/2, 1, 1/2, and 1/4 ounce). I believe the one ounce was one of the first "designer" silver bars. I've seen a few matching 1969 sets for sale with asking prices in $900-$1250 range.

@man2004, yes sorry for the lack of a response. There aren't too many threads on CCF that have zero responses.

Unfortunately, this is way outside of my area of knowledge. Perhaps if you posted a couple pics of the bars you might find someone who has more info?

That is correct Debrajc! At the FUN convention in Ft Lauderdale, none of the major dealers knew anything about the sets. Even the representatives at Silvertowne had no idea what I was talking about. I found my third set about a month ago. They are breathtaking (proof-like and toned) in hand!

I don't know the original price for these sets in 1969-70. But, I am guessing that they must have been around $100 with a total weight or 19.25 oz.

The upper image shows my original set. The lower image shows my second set. I have not yet photographed my newest set. The sets in the images are both matching "HERCAIMY INC" sets. The newest set is a matching "SILVER EAGLE SALES INC" set. The reverse is the only difference in the sets.

Wow, beautiful sets. Based on Debra's APMEX link it looks like these sets have quite a bit of premium over melt!

I don't have any reason to pay four times the current spot price for what I consider bullion. That is probably why most coin dealers and collectors haven't dealt with them.

It interests me for the why behind this comment.

The set in question has a ton of appeal to a collector because of design and the way the mint has presented it.

So why would someone be negative about collecting this beautiful set of silver pieces?

Jealousy comes to mind.

Found wanting for lack of knowledge about the set that bruises the writers ego?

Strange!
