I found it interesting there were more sales of the P vs the D roll but the opposite was true when it came to the bag. Grant it the difference isn't much but thought it was interesting nonetheless.

I buy the rolls because the coins in bags have more opportunity to get dings and scratches, plus I don't need 100.

Received my proofs today. I was skeptical but they are nice looking.

I have no idea what I'm going to do with these.

Only time will tell. It's not a limited mintage coin and could easily be sold throughout all of 2019

Very true, they sold the 1999 P proof SBA dollars for four years.

I was actually a bit surprised the ones in the roll have as many light scratches as they do. They probably all get dumped into some bin before being packaged into the rolls.

I would not be surprised. I am sure they are not made at the same standard as uncirculated mint set coins and are going to have the same "volume" handling as any other business strike.

Just read on another thread that the proof is showing as "currently unavailable" on the mints website. Pretty surprising since I figured these would still be available through the first half of 2019.

Same here. I was waiting to order with the Apollo coins since I missed out on free shipping.

The last published sales figure is 79,723 on December 30th. If it holds anything close to that, this proof will be a winner. It will be interesting to see how the uncs end up as well.

That's what I was thinking. I was guessing sales over 500k easily at first. Was also going to wait for the NASA coin to order a few more. Doesn't look like that'll be happening now.

Proof coin back on sale, though on back order til sometime in February, for those who are interested.

Perhaps they'll put a 2019 date on it! That would be a violation of the law so they'd want to round them all up. I can see the mint police knocking at my door. :)

Was probably a packaging issue. You implied they may have minted half a million in December and I do not doubt it.
