Yep, counted about 7 or 8 pepole who suffer from hoof-in-mouth disease, glad I changed my signature!

These are the Good Ones, those we all hope to stumble upon. When ya do, "celebit, celibit, prance to the moose-jik", something like that...just hope this isn't your " once in a lifetime" coin!

Congrats Beefer518, you buy the first round!

Good for you! Just as a reminder, I wouldn't send 22 no d's to ANACS, because they only grade the strong reverse as a no d, if you have a weak reverse, even if it is a no D, they will certify it as a weak D.

@coinlover1899, as the strong reverse No-D is technically the only true No-D recognized by most, I would think that is all the more reason to have ANACS to the authentication. Looking at PCGS and NGC's websites, it seems PCGS will only designate the strong reverse (die pair 2) as a No-D, but NGC does seem to recognize the 'No-D Weak Reverse' variety.

It's interesting, as this is the opposite when it comes to Franklin halves Full Bell Line designation. NGC requires both upper and lower sets to be complete and uninterrupted, while PCGS only requires the lower set.

Interesting thread - here's my ANACS 1922 no D story. I collected Lincolns when I was 10 years old and kept them in a coffee can. Fifty years later I looked at them and said - hmmm no D on this 1922? I sent it to ANACS and got this WOW $$$$$

1922-No-D-LWC---Grade-And-Authenticate?

I'm not a Lincoln collector so put it on ebay and a very smart buyer challenged me. I put it up on this forum and got more bad news. I sent it back to ANACS and got this

1922-No-D-LWC---Grade-And-Authenticate?

Then I sent it to NGC and got this - I guess that all that shipping wore off about 10 points.

1922-No-D-LWC---Grade-And-Authenticate?

So I lost faith in ANACS and lost a lot of value.

********UPDATE**********

I sent this in to ANACS during the Summer FUN show, and finally got the results today.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news to all you nay-sayers, but ANACS says it IS a 1922 No D, Die Pair #2. In other words, the full-fledged, 100%, NO D variety. Not a weak D, not a weak reverse, but THE 1922 No D that everyone wants.

Grade is VG-8, which is better then I was expecting, so in a nutshell, I'm a super-duper happy camper right now!

Coin is shipping today, and I expect I'll have it sometime next week, at which point I'll update again with images.

And you guys doubted me.

YES!!

I don't believe I've ever seen one worn down to that level. That said, the reverse is too strong for the other die pairs - just highly worn. Excellent find!

@cipster thanks for posting that. TBH, I would have questioned it as a No-D. The two things that jump out at me as it being a weak-D are the second 2 in the date, and the stems of the wheat stalks. On the die set 2, I have found that the edges of the stems are crisp, even on very low grade coins. As long as one is crisp, it seems to be a die 2. If you compare the stalk stems on my low grade 8 to the stems on your much higher grade 30/40, you can see how much thicker and mushy your stems are. I'm not an expert, but it took me about 8 hours of research before I bid on mine, and it was stupid cheap. But I had no desire to buy a weak-D, so I read and compared everything I could.
