I agree with MikeF. I have it as XF-40. Agree about the scratches.

Very nice pictures of the coin. They're clear and clean.

Agree with EF40, nothing major to warrant a details grade

Show a close up of that "6". Looks like there might be a RPD?

Nice coin.

VF-35 sharpness, but cleaned and perhaps re-colored.

Nice coin.

Wow, didn't even notice it! I think you may be right.

Added value if it is an RPD?

@Childofthewheat - Thanks for noticing the date. I'm pretty certain it's the RPD-011 / VP-008 RPD, as it sure looks like this: https://www.NGCcoin.com/coin-variet...vp-008-5021/

Based on what I paid for it, I was pretty dang happy with everyone's grading of VF-XF, but now with the RPD, I'm bouncing off the walls. I bought this as a cheap type coin. Had no reason to buy it other then it was cheap and looked nice enough, and I was already buying a couple of coins from the seller, so there was no additional shipping.

Childofthewheat, If you're ever in the St Petersburg, FL area, I'll buy you a coffee (or beer)!

I'm with Bill Jones on this one VF35 cleaned and perhaps recolored or retoned. Could see it going EF40 too, the TPG's seem to be all over the place on this series in VF through low MS coins. THe RPD is minor, not a really common one though. Many 1864LM have RPD's actually, I think we are around 150+ die pairings, with over 25+ different RPDs.

I think this is an EF-40. Coin World's Coin Values says $52.50 while NumisMedia says $53 for a normal 1864 Large Date. Cool RPD, nice find for a type coin!
