Wow very nice set indeed, though I hate to see them slabbed. Any plans of removing them from their prison?

I have been after a nice Aegian silver stater for a rather long time. You have beaten me; that's ok, congratulations!

Congratulations. Those are some great coins. That hemidrachm is superb! As for the slabs...a hammer is a good solution.

Now, now, Ron, Damion, and Andrew. Some ancients collectors seek out slabs. Justinokay is one of them: http://goccf.com/t/290353You should try to make peace with that fact.

The following are my considered opinions, not intended as flames. Please treat them accordingly. Quote: Some ancients collectors seek out slabs. Slabbing is good for protecting an investment. When it serves as a substitute for developing particular hobby skills, it does not produce a stronger collector. In that respect it is not good for learning how to build a collection or pursue a hobby. Heritage routinely slabs everything it offers at auction. They don't want haggling over returns among other things. It bothers me that it is so highly promoted by Heritage, but they are invested in it, and slabbing is all about business and investment, buying and selling. It certainly is NOT about showing off material. Generally speaking , the way it is used destroys hobbies. IMO.
