Thanks for your reply. Is $399 a good deal for 250 Barber dimes?

Well, they're described as "cull" and seller is asking 16x face which totals to $100 over melt for the lot.

I don't know, but you may be able to find a better deal.

Unless there are key dates or several semi key dates it isn't worth the gamble. I'd pass

I'd rather have one MS65 Barber dime than the whole bunch.

Culls are just damaged coins - and should not bring much over melt if at all. Even though he states you will receive what the pictures show I'd still walk away.

I'd say no. Some of the Barber dimes found in my local dealers melt bin are better than some of these.
Rest in Peace

Looking at what this seller peddles, you will get the lowest grade common date coins available...you won't fill a book with them. Too overpriced for "junk" silver, as stated $350 max shipping included other-wise you will be gouged....Run Forrest, Run!

You ask what we all collect, check out our profiles, some list it here, it varies. Stick around, you'll begin to see what we go for by how we post! BTW, I don't collect Barber series, yet...have to set some limits...

Even though the seller calls them culls I see a couple of nice ones in the lot ,unless the other side of the coin is messed up . My opinion is DO NOT buy this lot . I sense your a collector and collectors don't buy huge accumulations of culls .

I'd use melt price as your guide unless you see something (date, mint mark, and condition without issues) that absolutely clinches a premium above melt. There is a melt calculator available online if you google "silver coin melt value". I try to buy only "coins in hand" for above melt value depending on the familiarity with the seller.

Being Barbers they would bring a slightly higher premium
but $325 would be more realistic.

Personally, I'd prefer to buy 5 Barber dimes in AU condition for that money.
