The Trade dollar gets no respect. The Trade dollar is the only USA coin to have been demonetized because when it found its way into circulation merchants did not want to take it. Banks were not required to take the coin from a merchant in a deposit. The coin was recalled by the government at melt below its dollar value. Many examples were sent to China in trade and were beat with chop marks. One of the most counterfiet coins.
And now being called the ugliest coin design.

I didn't used to like the Liberty V nickel, but I now have a few UNC examples and I like them quite a bit although the design does appear a bit 'flat'.

Other than that, the Flying Eagle cent never did anything for me. I don't even own one, though, so that could change I suppose.

I like pretty much all the classic designs (although maybe the earliest ones leave a little to be desired). Even Liberty on the Barber coinage is a rather handsome fellow.

Not the first time I heard that one, but Barber is way better looking than Morgan. Just saying.

Just kidding jbuck. I'm not ducking all those jabs, I'm returning one.

I for one like the Barbaer coinage. Sure, the gender is open to debate, but coin as a whole just kind of works for me.
One series that does not however, is Liberty Seated coinage. The series simply does nothing to me.

I like all classic US coins. I guess if I had to choose a design I liked the least then it would be the Braided Hair Large Cents but don't get me wrong I own some and wouldn't pass one up if you were send me some!

The Ike dollar has got to be the worst. The reverse is all right but I don't understand the affection towards Eisenhower's bald head.

In Ike's defense, he does have some hair up there.

If pattern coins qualify as designs for classic coins, there are some doozies. The Annular-Holey Cent Pattern Coins look like bus tokens... very expensive bus tokens! Here's one from HA https://coins.ha.com/itm/patterns/1...bnail-071515

Oh, c'mon, it's the 1995 Special Olympics $1 commemorative with Eunice Kennedy Shriver on the obverse.

I don't think any coin designs are ugly, think of how many hours they took to design a certain coin, and their lives and culture was different than today so they designed the coins to the times, every design is a art piece that was made to suite the times they lived in

Bald is beautiful.

But seriously, look at the coin. Their is hair, it is just very short.
