At least MS66 for both. I wouldn't be surprised if PCGS put 66+ or 67. Amazing piece.

very strict ICCS 64, probably a 65 (for both) and a very possible PCGS ms66. (that should about cover it).

ICCS MS66
PCGS MS66+
I'm sure I'm right about the PCGS grade.
It wouldn't make any sense for you to buy anything less than a top of the pop coin for your registry set.

It's an absolutely gorgeous coin. MS65 is my guess, but great eye appeal and a fetching RB color.

I find it interesting that the prevailing opinion here was that ICCS would grade this coin more conservatively than PCGS. For mint state Victorian cents, my experience over the past several years has been just the opposite and this coin was no exception. ICCS MS-67 Red, PCGS MS-66+ Red.

It is truly a stunning coin and I guess I was in a very strict grading mood because my guess was way off.

I'm thinking now by taking another look at the picture that the lustre is absolutely 'booming' and if this is the case, both TPG's take note and grade accordingly.

I concur with bosox - PCGS is most definitely stricter on higher grade mint state coins, and not from the Victorian era as well. It probably got the plus for eye-appeal, and the only keeping it from a lofty MS-67 grade is the soft strike on the reverse, especially on the rim.

Nice coin... I look forward to your update on your PCGS Registry.

Seeing this cent in hand is so much more than any photo can show.

The colour of this cent is hard to believe and matched on both sides..One amazing cent !! It just pops...
