I agree, I am getting rolls of Bu 2007s in bank boxes and cannot find a 2008. Well, I found one and it was a Denver mint and I am in Maryland. Jim

I am still waiting to find any 2008 coins other than the four Oklahoma Quarters I have!

Just picked up 4 rolls at the local convenience store and found 3 2008d's and yes, there is a difference.

I got a 2008-D, yesterday, from the pocket change, my daughter had, She brings it for me to look at,and I finally gor the new '08. It has a long crack fron the rim, down into the hail, and on down to the back of the head, behinf the ear, and almost into the field. I'll post a photo, later, (after the game). Dick

You can't miss the '08s with the extreme, blinding brightness of the planchet. I wonder if there could possibly be any die varieties this year concerning the size of the date ;) Fat chance, but I can still wish.

No 2008's yet. Is it me or does the 2007 in the first pic look like the 7 is added to a generic die stamp. Looks taller to me and added. nlp

Coop, I got a box yesterday, of 2008-D. They don't show any obverse on any of the rolls except one. it is a 2008-D, but no cracked head. I also found an Oklahome 2008-D in the box of quarters. Little else, tho! I did get $40.00 in half dollars, BU! Know what I'm thinking? Dick

Why do the 2008 cents get a premium? Sorry for the noob question.

It is a silly question but not for you asking it. It strikes me as being silly that it even has to be asked in the first place because there is no real reason why the 2008s should have a premium. It basically comes down to the fact that people are impatient and they want their coins NOW, not waiting to track down a box or roll from a bank. Also, some people might be thinking that they could find "the next great error". Of course, the chances of that happening are very slim.

Or the next big variety. If you could get a box of OBW rolls and they had a variety in them, you could cash in big time or just have 50 rolls of Cents. Most of the times it is just the 50 rolls of Cents, but the rare box could help you cash in big time. I try to find a box when I can get one, but the last couple of years finding boxes of BU OBW rolls are very hard to impossible to find. I have someone looking for me daily in the batch that she gets every day. Only one time last year did one come in. Trying to find the right box is like trying to win the lottery. You can't win if you don't play (Not that I would waste money on the lottery) But with the Cents I try.

Just found my first 2008P today in a roll of coins from my local bank- NW New Jersey. NO 2008D's- probably will come much later since I'm on the East Coast. Image: 2008PLMCjpeg1.jpg49.06 KB
