Authenticity looks good to me....Why do you think its not genuine Chesterb?
Its been cleaned, polished, and everything else under the sun, but it looks genuine to me.
No higher than f12 details for me, probably more like VG details.

Quote: Authenticity looks good to me....Why do you think its not genuine Chesterb These dates have been counterfeited by the thousands and many nice examples exist. Overall this coin has a flat, mushy appearance. Compare it to a graded VG-F example. This could have been made from transfer dies or even cast. The letters, wreath and devices just look flat compared to a real example. The mintmark looks off as well. When you have a heavily counterfeited date like this and a raw coin that 'just looks off' appears then my antennae immediately goes up. No way would I want to buy it and take the chance that it's real.

Looks real to me. Just heavily circulated and harshly cleaned. VG-10 (cleaned)

Quote: I believe this coin to not be authentic. The coin has been sleeping in a Whitman 9003 Indian Head cent album for the past 40+ years, I don't think it's counterfeit or altered. I thought the coin was going to grade around an F-12 at least Onward and upward

Your pics aren't the best, but suggest VG sharpness as they stand. Even if it is Fine, the harsh cleaning will really clobber the value.

Fine Details, harshly cleaned. It's flat and mushy because of the cleaning, authenticity not a concern for me.

I think I'm a little lacking in my copper coins grading skills.

Could be, but I assume you've looked at a lot of Indian cents in the past - do you really like the look of this one?

VG10 sharpness, whizzed (obviously.) I would assign it a market value of about 25% of a problem-free VG10 with original surfaces. This coin was likely a full grade F12 before someone took the bench grinder to it.
