I'd guess AU53 from these images. It hammered at $903 on ebay which sounds low assuming it's problem-free as it appears.

I bid a bit too early, my max was $800. I dont like purchasing raw trade or Seated dollars due to the counterfeits. It finished in the 900s. Assuming no problems, a good buy to whoever got it!

The coin brought a healthy price for a raw coin. The coin is not in a slab because it will not straight grade IMO. Why would a dealer leave a $1,000 plus on the table by not having the coin certified?

That sold well below AU money. Does the seller have a bad reputation? Please post a link if you can. Then again it's ebay. The pictures aren't exactly consistent and trustworthy. 44 is a tough year. I'm having a hard time believing it's original if it hasn't found it's way into a slab by now. Probably a details crack out.
