I have the 2013 uncirculated twonie, but one has never come my way in circulation. Add the 2016 loonie (I have only the special one from that year).

When they mint the coins and circulate them, are they distributed roughly evenly throughout the country?

You didn't have any trouble getting the old style 2012 loonie and Toonie? they were my most difficult besides the 1991 quarter business strike.

I had been looking for the 1991 quarter every year with no luck. Until I found someone that kept all of his change. I asked to go through it and did find the 1991 quarter that I was looking for. I thought I had seen another one but not sure if I had put it aside. If so, I will take a look.

I have also found the old style of the 2012 toonie. I think I may have an extra one.

You can find a bajillion and two of the 150 anniversary nickels. I can guarantee you that.

For me, I have yet to come across a 1970 nickel. I am very much hoping to find one sooner than later. I wish you luck in your hunt as well!

when I was a kid, the 1983 quarter was the tough one to find.

the mint was on strike in 1970, so low mintages. I think I find maybe 2 a week of the 70's (going through over a thousand dollars of nickels though)

I still haven't seen the Vimy twonie in circulation. I did buy an uncirculated one from a dealer, but I wonder if this will be another scarce coin in circulation(?)

Every week I pick up about 5 rolls of $2 coins. I have seen about 10 of the Vimy - most in almost mint condition as they are quite recent.

Not sure why the 2002 loonie and the 2013 toonie should be that tough to find. ...

The 2002 loonie is the lowest mintage loonie minted to date.

1) 2002 = 2.3mil
2) 2012 = 2.4mil (but many melted down)
3) 2010SK = 3.1mil
4) 2004(reg) = 3.4mil
5) 2010(reg) & 1992(reg) = 4mil
Noteworthy 'extra': 2003 uncrowned = 5mil

To date I have never found a 2003 'old obverse' loon - but apparently several here have.

I am also unclear on if the 2006 double date/maple leaf variety toonie was circulated.

I think the Alloy Recovery Program is detrimental to the hobby. One thing I don't agree on with the RCM.

True story. I went into a convenience store down the street from where I worked. To my surprise I received a '64 extra water line nickel in change. The very next week I went to the same store and got a '91 quarter in change. I never had any luck since then and I've been there hundreds of times.

Well...for the first time I finally found a 2013 Twonie in circulation. Only took 5 years for one to come my way!
