Really, how much time and effort would it take to unload these individually as culls?

Being rather negative, I do admit, it's - silver value only. Beat scratched toasted holed ugly common dates.

I can honestly say that if I were offered this lot for $180, I wouldn't buy them.

I'd much rather have one beautiful high grade or tough date seated over that pile.

Mostly? Figure ALL culls. If my math is right you have around $200 in silver, maybe less with the wear and holes.

Years to get more than melt for all of them individually

I agree that they are all culls. I can't imagine there would be any problem free coins in there considering what most of them look like. For a lot like that, I would offer less than melt, if I was even interested at all.

Personally, I would rather spend the melt value of those on one nice problem free example.

A lot more than the seller is willing to invest. Is he that lacking in intelligence, or does he know something his prospective buyers don't?

I'd offer 12X fv (15.5 x 12) = $186.

Sadly, I see no counterstamped pieces, being my favorite culls. One good c/s would pay for the lot!

Yeah, no kidding. Why buy that load and make his problem of trying to sell them your problem of trying to sell them?

What you don't realize is that there are about 10 coins good or better. Buy price on those are about $14 each for common dates. This equals approx $140. Leaving 52 coins cost $210, or $4.03 ea. When was the last time you saw Seated quarters in any condition for $4. As a dealer, this was not such a bad deal for a dealer or investor.

Ay caramba! This looks like the deadstock from a coin shop.

The coins that sat in the case for 10 years.

Half of those are in such bad condition they would have to be priced around there maybe lower in a junk bin if someone ever wanted them to sell, unless they're just hoping silver spikes so they can get more.

I'd buy them at silver, put them in a junk bin at shows and let people pick at $5 ea. Of course I'd pick out any solid Good+ coins and put them up in flips first. Its a way of doubling your investment. The real culls can just be salted into junk silver quarter rolls and sold at melt.
