Thanks all! I was kinda hoping it would come back graded a little higher, especialy since there's a local dealer that has one graded the same and is asking $200 more for....in a lot worse shape.....but....

It's genuine, and it's found a good home! (at least until I can afford an upgrade! lol)

I bought the 1916 D pictured below last year. It was graded by a TPG. What grade do you think they gave it?

afernbaugh, that's a nice one. By strict interpretation of the grading requirements, I'd say G-4?

VG8 requires 1/2 the sticks in the fasces discernible. I'm not sure where the cutoff is for the "VG" category. The diagonal bands are visible to a degree, so it might make a VG grade. I'm pretty certain the obverse would.

It's kinda borderline but more VG than G in my opinion. Just calls 'em as I sees 'em, PP

That was my thinking, The photos are poor but the coin is very nice in hand. PCI gave this a G4; I see VG8....and I think it is more than wishful thinking.

As for the PCGS AG3 here, I think it's pretty close to G-4. Too bad it didn't get bumped up.
