Not my series, but the color (from the images) does look questionable (especially the 1902) and I can't see them being straight graded. JMHO.

Do you think that the possibility of enhanced value would justify another lot of shipping and grading fees?

Actually I rather like them, just as they are; they are nice coins !

I'd send Rick Snow links to the Trueviews and politely ask his opinion. The first looks like a "maybe okay" and the second looks like a "probably not okay" IMHO. Rick Snow's thoughts would be worth a lot more than mine though.

They are both very attractive, but I suspect they would come back the same. Probably not worth the cost of resubmitting them.

Purple is the color you don't like to see on copper.

Not worth resubmissions. They will still sell better and have a better value remaining encapsulated.

No need to resubmit. Big chance they'll come back the same way. Or in a body bag if you're unlucky.

Hard to judge toning based off of one picture. The second one looks like it would be unlikely to get a straight grade, the first one might have a better chance based off the pictures but probably not worth it for either.

They stopped doing that for details coins. Now they just do it for fakes, coins they don't grade, something that doesn't fit or a coin that would be damaged if it was slabbed.

I would have to be happy with what they got.

I think the problem with the first one is the inconsistent look of the obverse and reverse - this sort of contrast is seldom seen in MS IHCs in my experience. As for the second coin, I've seen even stranger color combinations in MS holders - it's simply a crapshoot when you send them in.

Try a different service. The 1902 looks really high grade, although it's a common date, too. Here's a pic of one of my NGC's, looks even more fiery in person. (Sure doesn't look real, though, to be honest.)

Thanks guys for your opinions. I think I'll just leave them as is as you guys suggest. If I do resubmit it will be the 85 to NGC or anacs. I'll let you all know what happens. Thanks again everyone

Probably best to hold off for the time being. There are some wild-looking TPG BNs out there, but it gets dicey to resubmit on common dates given the cost. As I say, it's a crapshoot.

The thought has crossed my mind that the TPGrader cannot decide if they have had a light dip cleaning a long time ago, and have spent a long time re toning.
There is no sign of rubbing.

They came back "questionable color"
That gets them out of saying
'details cleaned'.

Personally, I am rather keen on them, and I would be perfectly having them in my collection just as they are, slabbed or un slabbed. That preference is yours.
