How about keeping every star note you come across and having the largest star note collection ever before you die.

P.S. Write, not right.

Gotta say it seems silly. Use the time to study your preferred genre of collecting. Or go volunteer somewhere.

In Canada I am fairly sure it is illegal to deface currency. Not sure about the States but... good luck? :\

Some years ago, I marked every note I got -- mainly to make a political statement, but also to see if any came back to me. A couple of them did: one while I was in college (small-ish town, didn't get to circulate far), the other at a street fair (big city, didn't really get a chance to circulate). It was a fun experiment but after that, the point was made and I don't handle as many notes anymore. Things are certainly different now, but still could be fun.

Who knows, in the future when these notes are rare, they will realize that that several of them have the exact same signature.

At first I thought this was referring to writing on currency is not right? But after reading op's post again I see why it was said.

PennyPride, Like some have posted, Do what makes you happy but be aware that it is illegal to deface currency.

Only if it is advertising (which I forgot to mention earlier and only applies to currency) or an attempt to defraud.
