Nice looker, alright, and a solid XF. I'd call it variety O-109a. This variety is characterized by the high and wide first 1 in the date, large stars, and the die crack on the reverse. Congrats on your selection!

That's a nice one! Unlike a lot of other series you can find some nicely toned capped busts halves in the XF range.

What is a good reference to learn about the varietys, like the 0-109a? I see it also from your description but where can I learn more? Thanks for the info! I can't wait to see this one in hand but ill be paying it off for a little while so it will be some time till I can hold it and take more photos. Thanks guys, I'm glad you like it! I have alot to learn about this series though, and most others.

I couldn't find pictures on that site that match mine. Anyone else study these die varieties? Could be the o-109a but I couldn't find it when looking. And pictures would help too

Hey, Jon. The O-114 variety is a close match for your coin but not exact. It says the arrowheads would be joined which they're not and it does not account for the die break along the left edge on the reverse, as the O-109a does. Ascribing varieties can be tricky, sometimes, for sure. I don't think anyone was trying to fool you.

The reference book I use is about $100 so my recommendation at this stage for you is to use the library. These books are really old so they shouldn't be hard to find. However, they may only be "reference" material in your library. Look for some titles at this link, https://www.ebay.com/i/401361554306...s&dispctrl=1.

You know, I looked again at the varieties and the die break listed for O-109a states it should be along the edge. The break on this coin is through the letters, even though it's in the same spot. The O-114 might actually be right. It's possible there is a small connection between the arrowheads that I can't see and that other things exist, such as a die break under 50 C which does seem to be there.

You'd be much better off if it is O-114, as it's rarer. See if you can get one of these books and figure it out. It's fun to do.

This is not 100% accurate but it gets you started on the road to the "T and I relationship."

This looks like the scarce O-114 to me.
