It looks plated, right? If so, I've seen these in stores &

online, generally part of a pc. of jewelery, in this

case cufflinks.

That wouldn't account for it being magnetic though.

It is mostly silver in color with a hint of bronze

If it is silver in color and magnetic then you can be pretty sure it was plated with nickel and if bronze colored also maybe replated with something else

Perhaps, but I am firmly on the side that this coin was plated after it left the mint, thus destroying most of its value.
