If you look up on Coppercoins listings DDO's for the 1992P Stinkin Zinkin you will find the experts don't know what to call this either, but as for instructional purposes it remains listed as 1992P-1DO-001, the only listing they have for DDO's. (sure don't like coppercoins link pastings anymore...?) Is it a well placed die gouge or something else? It remains a mystery, BUT since Tanman says he has one, it is a definite production run problem instead of a one-of-a-kind error. This would further substantiate the die gouge theory. Happy Holidays Everybody! The Holidays always started in our family on Dec. 10th, my wife's birthday when then we could set up the tree and would run through my grandson's birthday on Jan 15th(tree finally down!). Beside Christmas, were my mother and father in law's birthdays (both) and wedding annniversary, my wife's and my birthday (both). Now the folks have passed and my wife and I no longer have birthdays...

Crazyb0, I didn't want to ruin it for anybody either, but I didn't have a clue what the answer was. Happy birthday to you and the wife. , you made another one.

Here's mine. It's in a rough shape, lot of zinc rot, so I'm going to spare you from seeing full coin pics.

I have five of these things. Seems like a couple different die stages so likely quite a lot of them were produced although quite hard to find. It is the original CONECA DDO-001 so I have one in my collection even though pretty sure it's a die gouge. This one seems to be VEDS

Being a Neophyte in the field of Numismatics I had never become aware of this coin variety until now. Thank you for the post. The coins that the three of you posted are great photos, did you use digital? I don't want to assume anything, but you must use really good cameras to take those photos. I will go back and read the section on coin photography again but would also like to know what you guys used.
Thanks for posting.

The photo I posted was taken by merely shooting a photo with an iPhone through one of the lenses on a stereoscope. Glare was reduced by filtering the light on the scope with a sheet of drafting mylar.
