Here is the offending party: I will add if it is on TWO coins then I would suspect a die issue and there are probably more similar coins out there

Thank You omxfl, Your efforts are appreciated. Fox, I also am Thanking You, My camera skills are cold, However, I agree with Fox, I think it is a die or manufacturing problem. Willing to bet there are more like it too...... The agent at APMEX stated He was going to quality control, with My picture to be sure the " remaining stock " is also not flawed.........Basebal21, Your point is well taken, I believe, Like Fox stated, IMO, too, the only way this could be exactly replicated is a die flaw, or production damage, NOT impossible or unheard of.............. Nickelsearcher, Do you see the " line extending out from the branch ", that is not in the pictures others have posted,or the mint's production photos either, YES it is troubling........Bet there are others out there too....

Thank You, I called the quality control people at APMEX, I was assured their remaining stock does NOT have this problem..... I can see them selling these, after being slabbed as MS-69'S..............

Was it raised? If it's raised given the spot and you saying it's repeated it'd be a die issue which would be worth more than the normal one. That was my first impression seeing the location

It was not a raised gouge, it was incused or appeared to be a post production damaged coin, Twice or they simply did not change the coins...... PS, If they looked at coins before leaving them, This post topic would not be here.......... Not an error, IMO, Just poor handling conditions along the path to Me........Apmex, " The largest selection of coins online "... After comparing " both " coins pictures, I believe the coins are one in the same.!!! IF My conclusion is true, This is a serious problem about their practices and reputation,in the coin collecting community. I do not appreciate!!!

The APMEX Nightmare is a serious concern for all who might be considering buying or selling or simply doing business with the self proclaimed " fastest shipping in the industry " and " the largest selection of coins online ".... Problems with simple communication skills after returning a damaged coin twice and no one contacts me, I have contacted them after not hearing back from them from the first return, weeks ago. I will say, after working for the largest tree expert company in the world, customer sensitivity was and is an integral part of simple courtesy,. in doing business Anywhere. I strongly suggest that all collectors beware, APMEX is a disgraceful reflection of the reality of a unreputable " company " PS, If this site is concerned with more then the almighty dollar, accepting their money to advertise here, leading people like myself to believe that trusting this company must be good, simply because if they advertise here, this site must have standards to assure that people whom list their services here, must have integrity, or dignity in that they would not recklessly behave the way in which they are with My transaction alone. I highly doubt that I am being singled out. They are a disgrace to the coin collecting people who deserve a fair shake.......................... Disgusted and still waiting to hear back from anyone in the company to receive My third coin after returning the last damaged two !]

Just get a refund and call it a day. These huge sellers routinely use stock photos and when it comes to raw bullion style coins a lot of the times its grading rejects. They technically sent you what you ordered which is the trade off that people often pay for the lower price. Buyers that have a specific quality in mind are generally better off with either a graded one or paying a little more from a smaller seller to see the actual coin they'll get

basebal21, Are You suggesting that the " Largest dealer of gold and silver coins online " would send out seconds? I expect, Like the thread posted on this forum, about this exact topic, buying from the Mint vs a secondary venue, the quality of their products!! I for one was and still ply for the Mint. To suggest or defend a company for handing out sub par products, I wish this was a known topic for all to see prior to this nightmare. I just spoke to the daily mgr and was told that My Third coin went out Yesterday, IF it arrives damaged, in any way, I will proceed another way........ I appreciate the feedback, This is a poor reality of the way this company, AMPEX does business...............PS, I did not order a bullion coin, I ordered an Uncirculated 2017-W Gold collectors version coin..........Big difference in the two...... Fox,I am too..........
