Thanks, for a coin that was bought unseen it worked out well.

Yesterday I received the CherryPicker's Guide Vol 1 too. Will start reading it over the weekend.

The "convincing the girlfriend" part didn't go as hoped........

BUT.........as soon as Prethen is done researching and studying a certain number of coins........I will get my "fix" in !.....and it'll not involve getting in a vehicle and going anywhere......in fact it might "slip my mind" as to even mentioning it to her !.....
Soon I'll be watchin' my mailbox !.....

Jbuck.......
What is your wifes interest level in coins.......?....just curious.
I've got a lot of work to do with my girlfriend/eventual wife when it comes to trying to get her interest level where I want it......she shows me sparks of hope sometimes......but mostly.....well.....hummmm.
I've even tried the "this is my retirement plan" angle.....but she's pointed out that I want my collection to stay in my family tree for 379 years or so !......So I mention how many "dupes" I have and "Ultra Modern" ones that could go someday........but naaaahhhh........dudn't work !..(spelled "dudn't wrong on purpose!)

Her only interest in coins is to serve me.

She has no desire to collect them. She has her own collection obsession, which starts with a "D" and ends with "isney"...

She saves all of her change for me; she knows enough to spot the copper and silver. She got a 1999-S clad proof Delaware quarter in change one day and knew it was a keeper! She also likes going to the coin shows with me because its time spent together, and I reciprocate on her adventures as well.

My advice is not to worry so much about getting her to collect. Get her to tolerate your collecting and enjoy some of the hunt with you. Just be prepared to feed some of her obsessions.

That's TOO funny ! My girlfriend and her mom are MASSIVELY into "Disney" stuff and collectables !
Half of her basement is dedicated to these figurines and dolls ....and .....just "stuff" !
In fact when I took her to a bed and breakfast out of state last year.....she found some old Stawberry Shortcake "figurines".....that she just HAD TO HAVE ! And she even called her mom jumping up and down and everything.....
I gotta say.....I have a hard time with seeing how dolls get adults such a rise though.......

Hi, I've been in denial way too long and I knew this day would come. I am a coinaholic. My last purchase was 5 minutes ago. My last purchase before that was...15 minutes ago. My last purchase before that one was 45 minutes ago. My last purchase before that one was 2 hours ago........I could go on, but you get the drift.

I'm hoping that now that I've accepted it, I can no longer feeling guilty about multiple purchases each day. I also am hopeful that the internet doesn't go down for a day. Otherwise, no purchases that day.

What help can you give me for my addiction?
