thanks everyone who replied to me on this topic. As I said earlier I have this coin for quite a while and just never took it anywhere's. Always wondered about it. It's great knowing exactly or will most likely have to do with this. i'm just a guy who goes through my change. I have a small collection that started with my father-in-law 40 years ago. I don't think my kids appreciate what I have in the collection. Or the amount of fun over the years I've had. i'll have to dig out some the other treasures I think I found over the years. Glad to be part of the coin community!

to the CCF. Your coin ...based on the photos provided ... is a genuine mint error. It appears to be struck through a capped die ... and not a capped die as others have suggested. You can search this forum for the difference ... but relative to your coin it is a nice find indeed.

Quote: I don't think my kids appreciate what I have in the collection. iowalucas, I know that my family doesn't have a clue about what's what in my collection. Most of what I have is really just worth face value or a very small premium. I have been making a point of adding notes to the flips as a guide for whoever gets stuck going through my stuff someday. I do have a few nice coins that I bought or found and I try to keep them separate from the stuff that's worth just a few dollars.
