Wow.... that is gorgeous! Congrats!! Will you bring that one to Expo for a little "show-and-tell" session?

Shame you can't see the date...

This will be at the Coin Expo, plus the coin is in a extra thick PCGS holder, my lack of photo skills the top of the reverse shows a brockage

A couple weeks ago at the Coin Expo. the show and tell went really well and will share a very interesting tidbit about the RCM's third party packaging. A few years ago purchased the antique finish Macintosh apple dollar from a TCNC auction, during the research of this unit learned about the RCM using a third party to package the special yearly sets, etc. but what's interesting was the additional info from a good Gatineau dealer and a trusted collector who told me the company that has the contract to their credit hires challenged persons to assemble these sets. So one can see how some of these errors could reach the public as the wrong year loonie sets etc.

For us folks not so learned in the process of minting, how in the world would that happen and then get out of the mint?

Awesome! SPP - would a known date increase the value or just be an interesting detail of what year the error occurred in?

The US Mint also uses Schuler presses, every so often a multi struck president dollar will show up in the market, but the US Mint sells bulk totes of coins to public so one can see how a coin like this gets into the public. With the new info regarding the third party packager one now can see how this coin could get out because the company will get the coins in bulk bins and considering the limitation of the workforce it could slip through, but most likely this was a commissioned piece

A date showing on any kind of error definitely increases its value

In this case the coin is a 1992 parliament loonie, only struck for this occasion, but normally the year greatly increases value.

Definitely worth the effort to get that reholdered with a PL designation. In general, PL errors are much scarcer than MS errors... (although loon errors are scarce altogether).

stunning coin John! I loved seeing it at the expo so thank you for that..what I noticed about it is the final strike appears to be uniface..from what I remember it was completely flat.(if my memory serves right) if I'm right, it's crazy that PCGS missed such an important feature. and yes, definitely prooflike..the mirrors and cameo are really apparent in hand.
Feel free to call me Will.
