At the risk of seeming like a contrarian.. I don't think it's a Wide AM. The second T in STATES as not centered (as in a WAM). I am not one if the experts - and if I am incorrect - I apologize.

Looks like a WAM to me too but few are saying it's not . Hopefully experts say something to clarify ! The third pic is pretty clear you can see the gap !

An acetone bath wouldn't hurt. Although it won't remove those carbon spots.

I'm in with the majority consensus of indeed 1998 WAM. Nice find ... somewhat common relatively speaking but still a trill to find for 1 cent.
