Quote: I am surprised he doesn't have a lot of action on this buy it now. How does one have a "lot of action" on a single coin buy it now?

@nss-52, by "action" I meant watchers. I would think there would be a bold red number of watchers on the listing, as I get when I get a lot of watchers on something.

Quote: The wheat stalk seems to be minted into the damage so I'm curious if this could have happened at the mint. Conversation piece but not $500 worth. So playing devils advocate with kbbpll statement. How would we feel seeing this coin posted here in a few months sitting in a mint error slab?....and how much would it be worth. I know, I was thinking the same thing.

Well, it does have the Blakesley effect. My daughter just said "Berty!". Took me a minute to get it.

It sold for $499.99, but I couldn't find any feedback from the buyer. Seller: dprc14 ps. I think it is a genuine 1909-S VDB. 162980734816

I saw this topic pop up and thought someone was going to say it sold. Wow. Genuine or not. Why? As a partial hole filler?

Wow. For a little more the buyer could have had a verified and graded, complete, coin. Hope s/he is happy with their purchase.

Now I'm thinking this was the result of an ugly divorce.

PCGS says genuine damaged ? As opposed to Fake Damage? Are they saying the mint did this?

@nemlas, PCGS says the coin is genuine however it does have damage. Not that the damage is genuine.
