Well it does say polished on the images... so I'll go with that! LOL

But I do think I see the polish lines going through the design elements edges.

The key point is one thing. The letter 'Y' on LIBERTY. Polishing makes them smaller. A Struck Through Grease issue makes them wider.

Ok so it gets harder for me on older coins...

What say you on this one... ?

I don't think it supports just circulation wear... I vote grease ? 'cause I see no polish, but I also am not noticing fatness...

OK so I get that the back of the Semi-MAD (lol) 10 cent coin I posted had grease diminishing the 'ME" in dime and the fattening in EPU.

On the 1946 coins, the last two digits were common to be weak. Perhaps not real strong on the master die or weak on the master hub. (If that were the case all would be weak on the date) So I'm leaning more on the weak master die.
On TRUST there is weakness that is from a Struck Through Grease issue. Note the 'Y' on LIBERTY being we thinner, it looks like the die was over polished. So on this coin it was an issue with three things.
Weak design, Struck Through Grease and polished die issue. Yes all three came into play. But on the OP's coin, it was just one issue that caused the issue. So that was why I focused on just one issue. Discerning the difference was my goal. Although these events do not add any premium for them, just know what happened is the big reward. If you understand it, then you can explain it.

Well he won't be wearing a necklace since he is neck-less. BTW-- Nice ghosting on the reverse of that 46-S.

Thanks Coop...

You are helping me understand what is going on, and yes that is a big reward to be able to discern.

BTW what is "ghosting" (on back of '46-S) I don't know that term yet... ?

So much to learn!

That is called 'Progresive-Indirect-Design-Transfer' (Or PIDT)
The happens as the design comes through on the reverse from the obverse side of the coin.

Not sure what causes it. The ghosting is what looks like Abes' head upside down on the reverse of the coin.

Oh WOW! OK... Now I see that clearly on my penny reverse!

Thought back look a bit warbled... wasn't sure what to make of it!

Guess that racks it up to 4 errors on the '46 S?

YES I DID!

And totally changed the way I am looking at my coins!

Hopefully some other newbies can learn something from my endless questions... at least I am learning the RIGHT questions to ask!

You're a great teacher! THANKS AGAIN!

"No Neck is just a name describing the error, Eye4Error. The errors described here besides the Struck Through Grease I already showed you, are as shown below. BTW, Coop is the expert here, what he says you can take to the bank.
