i broke down and started a 1982 collection. Now I gotta figure out what copper and whats not. I found four different really nice red cents plus a few extras. I found a 1982P&D sm date and 1982P&D lg date. I started getting disgusted with some of the coins though. You see a shiny coin showing excellent condition and all then you look at the reverse covered in vedigres. It makes me sick and just breaks my heart.

The question I have is: how many rolls have you gone through to get get what you have so far? For me, I am lucky to find a nicer coin from the 60-70's about every 20+ rolls.

I have come across numerous red coppers but werent in the greatest shape in the world so I threw em back into circulation. The coins that I have marked as found are in excellent condition and vedigres free. This makes it even harder for me to find the set this way it also makes it more exciting for me.

I would be willing to trade this 1974s for a 1959D of comparable quality. I know it has a few nicks but the luster is great and there is very little wear. Anybody interested? If you don't have a 59D give me a holler and we can probably work something out. Image: img045.jpg73.03 KB Image: img046.jpg86.06 KB

coindexter I think I need to take a road trip to your bank if that is what you find on a normal day. 1913-V have you by chance got any other pictures of close ups of your coins? I was just wondering what conditions they were in and wanted to see how the collection looks like so far. And like others, how many rolls have you gone through to get your set? I know that I have gone through about $200 worth to get what I have now. But to be honest, I did buy a few rolls off of ebay that filled in a lot of holes for my 60's and a few 70's.

1913-V: Have you tried balancing the 1982's? Get a popcycle stick and mark exact center, lay it on a regular 6-sided pencil, put a normal copper cent on one end of popcycle stick. Then put a 1982 on the other. If copper, the stick will balance. If zinc, it just sits there up in the air doing nothing. I feel this works quite well although time consuming.

Here is some pictures of my roll hunting so far. Last night I found a red 1960-p and d in one roll. What's the luck. And today I found a 1972 poor mans DD. Around here its easy to find the older one's in nice shape but it took me forever to find a single 2007-p. The Ds are in nice shape and a plenty but finding the Ps in nice shape are few and far between. Do you guys have both of the 2008s? I had to reuse a couple of my 2x2 on the 1909s just to get them covered up tell I buy more. I just got these coin holder books today. Take a look. They were only $10.99 and hold 80 coins. It is surprising what does turn up in 'loose change' when someone handed me a 1724 silver coin in EF condition and didn't want it back when I had an attack of the guilts and told them. When I asked dealers about the origins of the coin they all offered to take it off my hands. Well, ain't they the nicest bunch of ..... regards
