 I'm wanting to say it's some kind of master die doubling, maybe. Can't seem to see what I want to see on the "W" though. So that's throwing me off also. Any others might know? Coop, what cha got? Edited by killians76

EaV, I looked for markers that showed on the 51 I posted when Coop told me it was master die doubling couldn't find that spot on the W so I don't know where to go with it now.

Well, incuse marks usually means a contact mark. Something may have altered that area. But not really seeing a variety. Just coin contact.

Gotcha coop. Why am I seeing the date thicker with no sign of worn die around it? And the 2 looks different?

Not sure which device your looking at. I'm assuming the 2. But I don't see die doubling. The coin die state is in the late MDS when struck. Which considering for that year, a lot of extremely later die state coins were struck. So it looks quite normal to me. A hit on the arrow area. What am I missing on your coin?

Just thought cause I couldn't see the lines from a worn die and that it seems to be thicker on the date that it would mean something. But I got it. Thanks coop.

Yep. That's what I'm seeing too Coppergold. I was told to look for thicker and noticable notches or separations. If it is thicker because of shelf like appearance then it is probably md. So when I seen thicker with out shelf like affect to it, I looked for notching and found it. But coop is the man and knows what he is talking about so I just took it at that.

When we start looking too close we are finding stuff that isn't collectible to a variety collector. On my setup do you know how I'm looking at something too minor? I can see something on my scope, but the camera doesn't show it. Then I know I'm looking to hard. If my camera can't get an image, a buyer with a 10X loupe will not see it . ( that is the only key to the that it is/isn't worth buying. So a scope stronger than 10-30 X is like a TV on a honeymoon. (Not necessary)
