to the community Outwardly the coin appears genuine, but difficult to say for sure because of it being mounted in the bezel.

I would hate to think that someone would waste spending money on an 18k gold setting on a fake coin. I wouldn't pay any additional, since I'd be taking it out of the setting.

Obverse seems to match a fake documented in the IBSCC Bulletin on Counterfeits BOCS Vol 3 No.2 Page 14. Even with the grainy BOC reproduction, there are many correspondences to be noted. According to the Forgery Network, the BOC entry refers to a "highly sophisticated pressure injection moulding technique used...in its production""

Nice job Ron. Clearly this is a fake and hopefully @logxyz didn't bid on it.

I'm simply amazed by you guys. I appreciate it. I feel also bad for whom spent big bucks on the copied coin. And thank you for the warm welcoming.

My rule of thumbs is if you even have to ask the question then there is a seed of doubt in your mind so just walk away. The agony of finding out the coin is indeed fake, particularly if you paid a lot of money for it, is just not worth it.

I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have discovered this Forum before having this happen to me. To have the ability to post something here and have expert eyes give you an opinion before pulling the trigger is priceless. @escizento Quote: My eyes might be playing tricks on me right under the tip of the neck is that the word copy upside down? Incredible eye to catch that!
