I looked at PCGS current census report and the PR price guide and the 1851 Half Cent proof date is not even listed. There is nothing on Coin Facts about the 1851 proof Half Cent. Did PCGS pull certification of the 2 proof 1851 Half Cent coins that they had graded? NGC does not have any 1851 Half Cent proof coins certified.

That's some piece of commentary about this community. I kinda wish you would have kept that one to yourself. That having been said... Post a pic and stop the belly aching.

Several of you are misconstruing my earlier post. I didnt say anyone would be jealous what I said was in other post I have listed & in many posts I have read I clearly can see & feel the deliberate decimation of some posts & deliberate crap in plain english. For instance one guy posted a few pics & was asking questions about his coin. One comment was keep dreaming! I've read others where some just for a lack of better words just piss on someone's Parade. Sometimes it's not what you say but how you say it... Also like I said there are other times when people are very generous and helpful with their information.. The problem is in my "opinion" There are way too many people in here who think they work for PCGS and they feel they are professional graders. Rather than give what should be their humble opinion they force down your throat what you must believe to be the truth because it came out of their gold plated lips. That's the kind of crap that bothers me... Just my post here for instance I feel I've gotten great information some people even pointed me in directions where I can get more information and I am greatly appreciative of it... I will keep coming back because I really like it here I just hate to see negativity When we're all trying to do the same thing! I would hate to see a novice collector just give up because somebody bashed him. Some would say great more coins for us but I don't feel that way, Because when you're all gone in the dirt somebody's gotta carry the art/trade on... Now with all this being said I have a question slider23? There is an 1851 proof column listed in the Red Book and If I understand you correctly you're saying there's no listing for it in the PCGS price guide? Have to take another look I thought for sure I Saw it but it may have just been the Red Book I saw.. Either way thank you all for the great information I believe it will be helpful.

I had made a mistake as I looked under the large cent proof price guide and census total. The 1851 Half Cent proof is listed in the PCGS price guide and census total. Thank You, Basebal21 for the correction.

Quote: Yeah, you should send it to PCGS. I'm sure they'll get it right. They are the professionals.... They are the professionals, but are they the experts? There's a difference.

Quote: . The problem is in my "opinion" There are way too many people in here who think they work for PCGS and they feel they are professional graders. I can certainly sympathize with that position and unfortunately the majority of the misinformation about the TPGs comes from people that never use them. That's really just the nature of forums though, there's always going to be some like that on every site and there are it's not something unique to this site. That said you can't let them ruin everything for you. Tune it out when appropriate and correct it if it's to far off base for the sake of people reading but other than that don't let it dictate what you want to post.

SuperPoacher74: You seem to have a chip on your shoulder. For what? I dont know. Bottom line: You can either post in this forum as-is or dont. Either way, you seem to be playing some sort of game or posting under your own set of rules. As you can see, that tactic backfired and has made people upset. Again, either post or dont. This forum is what it is.
