You're very welcome and no problem! Vietguy823, what are your typical finds when you search coins?

I'm an Mint Error guy lol. Normally, I separate all the pre 1982, then by year. When I have time then I look for all the varieties. For the more modern one I only look for 92, 92-D closed AM, 1983 DD and Copper, 1984 Double ears, 1988 RDV--006, possible 1989 RDV-005, 1995 DD, and 1998-2000 Wide AM, and possible 1993 Wide AM.

Thanks! E&V. At least we both have something in common :-). The thing is I just dont like the shield cent and its varieties. I only double check for 2010 transitional (2009 reverse) and vice versa if there is one lol.

You're very welcome! And yes, I do agree with you on the Lincoln Shield Cents. I don't like them much etheir. It's my least favorite design and I liked the Memorial Cents better. On Lincoln Shield Cents, I only look for errors and varieties (I like the major Doubled Dies the best on LSC's).

Hi, vietguy823. That's an awesome 80 lbs lot of pennies. Sorting alone gives you the adrenaline rush what more if you find what you wish. It's a time well spent in a hobby, in my opinion. Enjoy & have fun. It's like treasure hunting...

If you save any for further study, save the BU/AU examples and send the lower grade back to circulation after searching them. I figure if something later is discovered, I will check though my rolls of these and then put them back into circulation. (That way you can look at the better coins again. And if you find something, a better grade coin is what you want to find it on)

Thank you very much everyone! I do hunting when I have free time and it will be a while till I finish sorting all these cents. My wife is not happy with these cents since it shared my free time with her lol.
@Coop. yes I do saved most of the BU aside for any future references.

vietguy823 and coop:
I understand your "D" frustration. I live in south central Mississippi just north of the La. border. All the new cents we get here are Denver mint.
I decided to visit Bama back in 2013. I walked into one bank and stood in line as the teller dealt with an "old timer" who was cashing a bunch of cents.
When she asked if she could help me she was just starting to put rolls away. I stopped her and said I would like to get them (pointing to the rolls ). She asked " all of them?"
I walked out with over $60.
By the end of the trip I had $250 in cents to look through.

Good luck vietguy823.

I love saved stashes. You can usually find coins that were there for many years, preventing circulation on them and stuff that weren't searched for a long time.

Thank you DrDon! I can see that you really enjoy your trip hah. Came back with $250 in changes. I really like that, guess I will do the same when I'm going on a trip to :-). And yes, all the "D" Zincolns Cent are driving me nut over here. @ Coop. I do agreed, I love to get stuff from someone saved stashes as it were not being searched and being out of circulation.

My wife and I are taking a cruise Nov/Dec. It is 11 days out of New Orleans. I'll have 3 days of vacation left when we return. I will be "cent shopping" there and on the drive home. I never pass on an opportunity to get "fresh" coins. My little town has gotten stale.

edited to correct a typo.
