The A and M are not sufficiently separated to classify this as a " Wide AM" reverse. to CCF!

These 2 pennies are from the same year and mint side by side under a pc microscope and I noticed a difference in the a and m in America. Can some fellow collectors give me their opinion ? Thanks

We can resolve this one pretty QUICK! If the FG initials at the bottom right hand base of the Memorial are the exact same, then they are a Closed AM. What you have is a closed AM cent. I believe you are about to waste your money my friend.

The clue is to not look for at the AM area. Look at the the location of the 'M'. Centered it is was Wide AM. Not centered it is a Close AM. There are only two styles. Wide and Close AM. RDV-005-007: Die wear can affect the location on the Close AM's. So look to see if the 'M' is centered or not?

Dray,
Take a look at the left leg of M and compare on both coin, the left leg of the M on the coin in question is skinnier than the other one! and that's what coop is demonstrating here, it is the result of Die wear that has opened up a bit extra space between the M and the A.

The FG matches the picture of the RDV005 in the Wide AM pics.
