To answer your question about creating another account if you have been blocked..... "Registering new accounts to avoid buying and selling restrictions or limits, or other policy consequences, is not allowed on ebay." Even though GSC is a scammer and deserves all the bad that can come to them tread lightly. I would only create a new account by using completely different names, contact info and addresses.

So is banning a person a 'buying restriction?' I kinda think so. But if I bid, win and pay, then I should be afforded all the normal protections ebay offers including protection from purchasing counterfeit coins, and compensation for all subsequent costs. And buying a fake gold coin from GSC is easy; he has many for sale every week. His hi-res images are a double edged sword. But getting past his ebay Handler is tough as big sellers are offered another layer of defense. For example, GSC regularly posts 'bid' values for his raw coins, a no-no per ebay's written rules, but his ebay Handler allows it.

Being blocked would be a "buying restriction" I would think. My understanding is when you are blocked as a Buyer you are blocked under ANY user ID you have available to you or that you might create. People get around it by using different IP addresses, different mailing addresses, different emails, bank accounts/credit cards. Could you still get caught? Sure. ebay is trying to protect the Seller from what is called "malicious and unwelcome bidding". His "handler" is just another layer of protection he has at his disposal. As much as we don't like GSC ebay does because GSC pays a hefty fee to ebay every month and ebay likes his money.

If the Seller doesn't want you as a customer, you should not want to do business with him.

It's not a buying restriction. A buying restriction would have to come from ebay not one of their scummy sellers

to what end? if you successfully win an item, and prove it is a fake coin, you at best can get your money back, you will be out the certification fees. And with a big hitter as this seller is, one hit won't take them out of the ball game..

I stopped buying non-slabbed coins from ebay a long time ago....too many scams going on. GSC has been altering pics for a while, and even if you succeed in getting them banned you can bet they will be back on within a week or two doing business under a diff name.

GSC = Great Southern Coin, the dealer being discussed and mentioned/linked in the first post.

Thank all of you here for warning me away from this seller. I'll add something: Even if a seller has a high feedback rating on ebay, checking the actual negative feedback can give you some very useful information! https://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayIS...negative_365They also got a lot of low ratings on Yelp.
