Here's another photo of the obverse. Different lighting and the coin rotated differently when the picture was taken (and then re-oriented and cropped). Since the grading opinions ranged from MS62-66, I will say that in hand I thought the coin was a solid 63+ and maybe a 64. I don't think it would make 65 and 66 is out of the question.

Probably UNC but not by much looks AU58. No pizzazz to it, subdued luster. Might look better in hand, I guess.

It's an AU58+....a slider UNC that dealers would sell as a MS63.

For the benefit of smalldawg59, the amount of luster shown in a macro coin photograph depends upon the amount of diffuse light that is used to take the photograph. The more diffuse the light, the less the luster is shown. This photograph was taken with totally diffuse light to try and bring out the areas that coinfrog wanted to see. Rest assured that there are no problems with the coin's luster

after reviewing the new photos I amend my initial grade to AU58. just goes to show you how just a little lighting can affect the grading by photos

It would be nice if everyone who thinks this is an AU coin would say where they think they see wear. I can look again at those areas to see if there is a break in the luster or not. Like I said, this is a common date, so I don't intend on getting a TPG opinion But, I do get a kick out of folks trying to grade these coins from photographs from amateur photographers like myself (and I do TRY and take good photos, but I've yet to take one of a Morgan that I'm really happy with)

From the images provided, I'd guess MS-63 with a shot at 64.

I should put together an album with the AU-58 (slider) coins that I paid BU money for. From your last photo this is what I see.

Quote: BadDog - Do you see luster breaks in those areas? Nope -- Not a single luster break to my eyes using 5x magnification. Like I said, grading from photos, even professional photos, is very tough to do
