Quote: It will be interesting to see if the price varies as the price of the Au proof coin + $19, or if it somehow remains a constant $479.50 It's Wednesday and the Mint's new pricing for the Au coins is on the website and ...... the proof Apollo half eagle is now priced at $485 (+$25 with the higher Au price) and the proof/print set is still priced at $479.50 Order the set and get the coin at a discount and the print for free! Quite the marketing tactic

Quote: Order the set and get the coin at a discount and the print for free! Quite the marketing tactic Someone woke up at the Mint. This set is now priced as the half eagle proof price + $19 and Monday's (8/19/19) Federal Register has an announcement saying that will be the price from now on. So, no more discount

Quote: Well that didn't happen. The August 11th sales report has been posted but these 2 products aren't listed Maybe it's because I sent the Mint a query asking about these mintages, or maybe it's because they finally realized they weren't reporting the mintages BUT mintages for the 19XA1 and 19XA2 Apollo coin/print products were reported this week

Just received an email from the Mint saying that the 5 oz. dollars are back in stock if anyone wants to order at this point.

Re: Apollo 11 50th Anniversary 2019 Five-Ounce Proof Silver Dollars I just searched ebay "sold" listings and saw two dozen recent listings below MSRP. The Mint recently moved these coins to the "last chance" page. Not looking good for resale? Are these coins holding their value? I'm holding out for <$100 :)

Good thing I bought them to have, not to profit.

I'm still waiting for a good price to get the raw 5oz. Definitely not getting directly from the mint...

Has anyone else noticed that these seem to be popping up all over the place?
Possibly because they are no longer available from the mint now but I'm seeing them in adds, commercials and even saw a whole hour of guys trying to sell the 5oz in PR70. I am also seeing quite a few on the auction sites and coming in at low prices. I picked up a $1 PR70 for $60 but have seen a few go for less than that.

A brief search of sold listings on ebay indicates that the 5-oz coins in OGP are going for around $220. Just a hair below original Mint price.

All I know is it took me quite a while to score an ungraded $1 proof for anything close to a sane price (for me, anyway). I hope to share a pic just for the record.
