I couldn't vote for several reasons. For one I never go to coin stores or shops but know there are many in the area. Another reason is in the Chicago area, as with many large cities, travel time is really not possible to maintain a decent steady result. Also, I live near a lot of trains and there have been times when I tried to go somewhere that should take 10 minutes and spent a half hour waiting for a freight train to pass. Sure wish there was a small helicopter available.

There are 3 coin shops in my town.....130,000 people. I've only been to one of them 5 or 6 times....only gave him business once and have since heard that his prices are not fair or comparible to the other two in town..... I go to coin auctions, coin shows, estate sales, estate auctions, and my Dad has given me a generous amount of stuff through the years...... I'm not really against "coin shops" by any means....but I've learned there are some good ones and some bad ones !......sharks at some, and good decent honest people making a living out of what they love at others ........

In Taipei there are quite a few dealers - probably 25 or so. About 30 minutes from my house there is an office building which houses about 15 dealers on the first floor. It's a great place to spend an afternoon.

There is one small coinshop about 20 minutes away from home, but I prefer more Antique shops and internet auctions (lower prices). I buy supplies from coinshops only.

I guess I am a little luckier than I thought, we only have one shop in town and it is about 15 minutes away. There are a few other places that sell Morgan's and a few other silver and gold pieces but they mark them up too high thinking what they have is MA70 according to most of the prices. My local dealer has reasonable prices on most items and has a half off shelf that usually has a couple of great buys (if you get there first). If I want to go to another store it is 2 hours one way and 5 the other so my business stays in town and ebay.

There's supposedly one about 45 minutes from me, but I haven't been there yet... The issue isn't gas (motorcycle @ 55MPG) but time. This weekend i'll be going to one of the two annual coin shows for the first time... hope to find something good there.

There is a coin shop in my area but since it moved out of town, I don't go there anymore. I have never had any fun in there. There are a couple of wanna-be coin shops in town but I consider them rip-offs and I feel bad for uneducated people who sell good coins for next to nothing there. Yet these places seem to have survived many years. I like one antique shop that has some coins for sale and some haggling can be done. Also a good place to sit down and do some cherry picking. Mostly I buy online though anymore. I remember the old days when it was fun to go to a shop and talk "hobby" but I haven't found a fun shop in a long time. I should re-join the local coin clubs and see what I can add to the hobby locally. I seem to be too busy but I will go back to the clubs someday I am sure.

There is a very nice and large coin shop that has been in existence for 40 years and is renowned as a major coin entrepot just 15 minutes from my place.

5 min. The coin guy keeps some well circulated coins in baskets and I like to just look through them or "cherry pick" if you will and try to find something he may have overlooked or just something to fill a whole in one of my sets.

There is a beautiful coin shop on Main Street in Grand Junction, Colorado. We live in Delta, about 40 miles away. we sometimes go to the coin store with our grandparents. We would like to buy a lot of stuff but we can't afford a bunch. It's called International Coin, and the people who run it are wonderful.

I live in Snellville, Ga part of Metro Atlanta and there's a coin shop at 8-10 miles await. The owner is very nice, but doesn't seem to be will to participate in a conversation. He also doesn't carry many Lincoln cents or willing to get them. Also for the size of the Atlanta area there aren't many shop in the area.

12 minutes away. I go there every once in a WHILE. I go most of the time just to see if there's anything for a good price. But some times I go there with something(s) in mind and see if I can find them. If I don't then I punch all of 'em Just kiddin' ya'.

About 20 minutes by car. The range there is not too bad. It is a good thing they are not just a couple of minutes away. I would be broke!
