Thanks for the replysI will give Craig's List a try. There is a police substation near my house that is set up for face to face sales. They claim to have a camera recording everything in front of the building. If a person agrees to the location...I'll bet it will a smooth transaction but I will keep my guard up.

Well, what I truly meant was buy all $1400 worth, or their entire inventory of halves. Always buy them all. You see, even though 139 rolls may all be just other's picked-through dumps, roll # 140 might be solid silver. I have found numerous solid silver rolls that way, along with misc rolls in the mix that contained random silvers. You have nothing to lose, and bank personel will love you for it. (Of course, when applying CRH rule # 1, never dump where you eat.)

I was able to get $650.00 in Kennedy halfs. It was all they had at the time. I got about 10 more rolls of the 1993 D's and the rest were 1971 to 2000. I noticed red Mark's on every roll and realized they had been gone through already so I will have make the best of the situation and look for errors and cherry pick what I can.
Just after I left the bank I got a phone call from the teller that helped me. He said "give me a call when you need more because he would order what I wanted" I will have to nurture that relationship. It was his idea to help me!!

You can't beat that. That's half the battle when looking for rolls/boxes to search.

The problem with ebay is that between ebay and Paypal, you're paying almost 15% in fees, plus a possible listing fee.

I've had good luck selling things on Craigslist, but they weren't high-buck or popular, well-known things. They were usually things you wouldn't want to ship, like tires. (I sell stuff on ebay that I don't think is possible to sell anywhere else fairly quickly at a decent price, except maybe Etsy.) My main problem with Craigslist has been no-shows. The scammers were pretty obvious, usually saying by email that they were in another state and would pay with a high demonination cashier's check, so that I should wire them back the difference.

Amazon.com will be lowering their seller's fees very soon.

Thanks Pauldog....I cringe when I see my ebay fee's but for now it seems to be the path of least resistance. I knew when I got in to this hobby it wasn't going to make me rich. I like the hunt and the thrill of finding something cool.

Thanks USSID18 yea I couldn't believe what I was hearing. When the teller identified himself on the phone I figured I forgot something at the teller window. He quickly said "No I just wanted you to know we don't get Kennedy Halfs in very often and he would have to order them for me and how many would you like"? I still have to remind myself that is true

Yeah - 10% and they even tag the shipping costs. On ebay the real winner is the USPS - the rates are crazy. I've sold things on there that I make 2$ and the post office makes 21$

Just be thankful the USPS rates aren't any higher, they have an annual operating loss, in 2017 in was almost 60 million dollars.

USPS rates just went up this week, and now even First Class packages are priced by zone. Like before, the minimum shipping weight for packages is 4 oz, but now the next minimum is 8 oz, so now you pay the same to ship a 5 oz package as you pay for an 8 oz one.

What's odd is that the second ounce for envelope (non package) shipping is now a lot cheaper than before. I think this makes the "second ounce stamps" I have worth less than what I paid a couple of months ago. But my regular first class stamps are now worth a nickle more.

I've been told that having teeth pulled is less painfull then selling on ebay.

It depends on what you're selling, but I would much prefer selling almost anything on ebay to having a tooth pulled.

It's pretty easy to sell the same thing over and over on ebay, especially if the money is pretty good on that item, and it's fairly easy to ship. The work is in trying to sell a lot of different unique things, taking photos, editing the listings, etc., especially things where you don't make much money, and then discover that your shipping cost is a lot more than you expected.

It helps to be interested in and knowledgeable about the things you're selling. It makes the work more interesting, easier to answer questions and deal with buyers' problems with the item.
