Oh, they are definitely real, where real refers to reality. They are just not authentic.

They are just not authentic Man, there is always one in every crowd... So, is this forum "real" or is it just a bunch of electrons on a metal disk, and random streams of electrons skipping across a copper wire creating a random design on a collection of liquid crystals on my desk?

All the buyers were in the USA... Hold on to your hats folks, there are at least 18 more fake Morgans headed for our shores!

LOL...I picked up a couple of these " Trade dollars" at the flea market (knowing full well that they were fake...I just wanted to have a couple examples of them...plus they were cheap)...also picked up a " Morgan dollar" from the same guy. They don't even come close to the correct weight (these fakes weight like 17.5grams where real ones should be 26+grams or something like that). Oh, and like everyone else has been saying, the design is totally off...both obverse and reverse. Another funny note...one of the " Trade dollars" I picked up was from the 1700s, with the same design as those from the 1800s! lol...

When I first saw the question: Quote:What are the chances these Trade dollars are real? I have to admit I thought of the meeting of the long-lost Chance brothers: None meet Slim; Slim, None.
