66/67 without much tail detail? Learning this series, surprised by the grades.

At least MS-66, doesn't get much nicer than that! The strike is a bit soft for a 38-D, which in my mind would be the only thing keeping if from 67.

Nice one Scott, MS66 seems reasonable to me.

Okay, so here she is... I asked the question about everyone's thoughts on grade because I respect this group so much. I was wondering if I should send it in to get re-graded (is it worth it or not). Thanks again for everyone's opinion on grade, now what would you do?

It's a great coin, but the 38-D/D is common enough in high MS grades that it probably wouldn't be worth it to resubmit it. I don't think it would make 67.

PCGS whiffed on that one. I didn't hesitate on a 66 and still don't even after seeing their grade.
I wouldn't crack and resubmit. There isn't enough price differential to make that worthwhile (only $25 swing from 65 to 66 on Bluesheet and Greysheet right now).
That said, your coin's value isn't the slab and your market isn't a generic slab-buyer. The value is the coin itself, and your market is a collector who buys the coin, rather than the slab. That's a beautiful coin and should command a solid premium over the slab grade.
Thanks for sharing it with us!

Thanks fortcollins... That was the main reason I posted it here. It just seemed nicer than 65 to me. But admittedly I'm no expert in buffalos..... .:)
