So lets honestly dissect this. Aside from the fact the OP was just trying to share something where there was no reason to ask why he didn't get higher grades we can break this down factually.

Lets start with the Lincoln. A MS66 RB with beautiful toning. Thats a coin that has eye appeal that pops and is one grade below a very big price jump. PCGS has also only graded 5 RB coins of that date and mint mark higher than what he purchased. Are any of those available I don't know, but they would cost a lot lot more if they were. Bottom line he picked an upper echelon coin with great eye appeal and made a great choice with it.

Now lets talk about the Washington. That is an MS 65. By no means a grade rarity but I can grantee you many many people would rather have that than the majority of 66s. 67 is a big price jump from 66. Again the OP made a great purchase with strong eye appeal that many buyers would rather have than a grade up.

Your statement " nice toners but because these coins are common and inexpensive I would have gone for better grades than those of yours that are scratched with a few bad hits, etc." shows a lack of market knowledge

Hey! I didn't realIze this post would cause any controversy. I agree with basically everything that was posted. I have higher grade coins in my collection but I'll pretty much buy anything that I think is toned nicely, regardless of condition.

I find that a lot of the online sellers (Facebook and IG) look for big premiums on toned coins, but in this case the seller sold them to me priced basically by grade, so I feel like I got in cheap. Cheers!

One thing to consider when collecting coins . There is no right way or wrong way .
It is whatever " floats yer boat" .
While not perfection , the OP s coins are absolutely gorgeous and worthy
of most collections. The neat thing is , if one collector loves the beauty and
Eye Appeal , when it comes time to move them on someone else will too!
