You don't even have to go to google, just search in ebay for the exact same item. I looked at a couple of more of the seller's listings. He does put a lot of effort into his listings. You have to give him that.

Whether P.T. Barnum ever said it or not, It certainly seems to be true that "There's a sucker born every minute."
I have certainly had my turn a time or two.

Junk silver. I suspect the results were manipulated to look like it sold. That piece of paper is a tool of a scammer.

Thank you for the reality check. I'm pretty new here, and I thought it was possible that I was missing something valuable about that coin. The ebay listings reminded me of a notorious used safety razor seller in the mid-2000's. He'd claim that his refurbishing made them "better than new," but we'd laugh at them on shaving forums and hope he didn't fool anyone.

Are you sure it's the same one CoinsKelly? It's no big job to get a 5 gallon bucketful of coins like this.

"Shaving forums" are people mostly discussing shaving with earlier razors - straight, double edge, injector, etc. It's become a thing, I think both among hipsters and older men who never gave up their earliest razors. Gillette even bought a boutique shaving accessories and razor maker called Art of Shaving. You'd be surprised at the prices of discontinued Gillette razors on ebay, even the recent Sensor. There's no grading like for coins, but new ones in the original packaging usually sell for $50 or more. Most people are buying them for use, not for collecting, though older razors are often collected. I like shaving with my old Schick aluminum-and-brass injector razor, but it's worth so much (~$200) that I'll sell it before too long, and use a Schick worth about $15 instead.

I just got a much nicer 1945 P WL for under $6 in a random bunch of halves from Provident.

Wow... low mint state price for a vg at best. Nothing is unheard of these days. Maybe I should check the cigar box at the back of the closet.
